Why Are You Working At A Job You Hate?

Are You Working At A Job That You Hate??

If you are… STOP IT!

I’ve come to realize that we are here on this planet to find JOY in all we do. Too many people are running around each day going to a job that they HATE!

I spent the day in the New York City yesterday visiting a client, and then walking around for a few hours. Most of what I saw were people rushing around trying to get to their J.O.B (Just Over Broke) on time. They were not anywhere near enjoying the present moment. You could see the frustration and discouragement in their eyes… kinda sad.

I challenge you to do what you LOVE! When you do what you love, so many other things fall into place. That is why I love the life of being an entrepreneur! Nobody tells me where to be or when… I have total CHOICE!

We all do… what are you CHOOSING? If you are working at a job you hate… STOP DOING IT! Check out this quick video I shot for you while I was in the city yesterday, outside Madison Square Garden. I apologize for the lack of stillness in holding the camera :)

Eric, you are a very wise young man. Thank you for your inspirational videos. My passion is in the health and wellness for myself and everybody else. I want to get my message out there but am working alone at this moment. If you are looking for another business opportunity, I am looking for a business partner just like yourself. You would be great at what I do!! Looking forward to your next video.

Great advice, Eric. I left my J.O.B. not too long ago, and it was the best decision I ever made. I’ll tell you the biggest kick for me: the sense of control. In a job someone is always telling you what to do. In your own business you call the shots.

It’s also great to have the freedom to work when you want, and to have the opportunity to take advantage of situations when they arise. Like your ability to just cruise the city while your there. You don’t have to rush back to the office.

I have many passions, and I’m now using the Internet to leverage my ability so share those passions with others.

With some basic planning and maybe a little sacrifice, you CAN do what you love, and you’ll be much happier for it.

I just LOVE the city, Eric, I live near Philadelphia, so I spend a lot of time there, but NYC is just as awesome. it\’s funny because there is such a great energy, but if you look a little deeper, you are absolutely right. I see zombie faces on the train and absent-minded looks from people I pass on the streets. What a shame to not enjoy every day to it\’s fullest. Thanks for sharing and inspiring others to follow their dreams…we should meet up one day for lunch (my schedule is flexible!)

city either next week or the week after.

Let’s connect on that:)

You only live once and to spend so much of your time on something you hate is insane! As cliche as \"you only live once\" is, people aren\’t tying an emotional response to it. To most people it\’s like hearing someone say \"Good Morning\". I can\’t express how good it feels to live your life.

Thanks Eric, great post.

Hey Eric,

Love your message about pursuing your dreams, living your passion, and going for it!!! “If money wasn’t an issue…” definitely the case!

In my opinion, one of the biggest challenges that people have is FEAR… and I love what Tim Ferriss described with “Fearsetting”… “Goalsetting”‘s oft-forgotten and very important sister-exercise.

This is my first time to your Blog… Thanks Eric!

Great points, thank you for such a valuable post! You are definitely right that we need to pursue our passions. There is no point in spending so many hours of our lives at a j.o.b. that we hate! Life is meant to be enjoyed! That’s why I started a home business a number of years ago but I’ve found that even though I’m not making someone else rich I still don’t have the time freedom that I had hoped for. So now I’m on the path of entrepreneurship. Thanks for the encouragement to keep going!

Beautiful, Eric! Thank you! In some ways, your words “Are you doing what you love” breaks my heart, because I know that I am not. Believe that I am here to do something different, more meaningful and purposeful. The pain of this realization is probably the first step in stirring change. So thanks for your email message today, Eric, for the beautiful video, and your blog. God bless, my friend! I look forward to more encouraging and empowering words from you. Until soon..

Hi Eric,

Thanks for the inspirational video. I’ve been working in corporate world pretty much all my life. However, I’ve split my time between working a JOB and trying to develop a business of my own. I realize that it’s more of a challenge to split time as opposed to just diving out there and really focusing on what I love.

As you mentioned in your video about big branded companies folding, I could not agree with you more. I’ve been in my latest JOB for 5 1/2 years now and the department is closing. I believe that now it’s my calling to really pursue my passion in life and put looking for another JOB on the back burner while focusing on moving my online business forward.

I have always worked in the health care field on the business side and at the same time, I’ve always been into health and wellness because I really enjoy helping myself and others. I recently decided to challenge myself by stepping out of my comfort zone and get more involved with social networking. At first it was a challenge to me because I was so used to the brick and mortar ways of doing business. This whole social media concept coupled with technology is truly a blessing for anyone wanting to start a business. My blog is in it’s baby stages and I am taking one step at a time and of course learning as I go.

I appreciate you sharing the knowledge, and I say a big YES to being ready…as I look forward to doing what I really love!!!

Thanks again!!!:-)
Denise

Hey Denise,

Thank you very much for your
great comment, and for your
transparency!

Pursue that passion… and share
your gifts with the world. You have
knowledge in the area of health and
wellness that others don’t… that want
it.

So share it and build a business
around doing it. I support you 100%
along your journey!
