The Shift: Taking Your Life From Ambition To Meaning

by Eric Goldstein

If you haven’t Wayne Dyer’s book The Shift: Taking Your Life From Ambition To Meaning yet… then you must put it at the top of your list of books to read. I recently read this book and it was one of my favorite reads. The Shift 140x150 The Shift: Taking Your Life From Ambition To Meaning

I’ve been asked by Hay House Publishers to do product and book reviews before they release them on the market. This was the first of many that I will be reviewing for them.

This is pretty exciting being Hay House is one of the fastest-growing self-help publishers in the world, selling books, audios, and videos to 33 countries around the world. So keep an eye out for some more stuff coming from them.

So back to The Shift…

This book really resonated with me being I’ve been doing a lot of reading and listening on the topic of Law of Attraction. Wayne Dyer lays it out perfectly in this book. He shares in depth about how we get what we focus on.

If you’re always looking at what is wrong in your life… you are going to get more of ‘what’s wrong showing up’. We live in an attraction based Universe. There is no such thing as ‘no’. What do I mean by that?

When you say ‘yes’ to something you pull it towards you. When you say ‘no’ to something you pull it towards you. It’s a tricky thing, but most people think that by saying they don’t want something and focusing on it, talking about it, telling their friends about it (I think you get my point:)… that it will go out of their life.

The exact opposite happens! This is some of what Wayne Dyer talks about in The Shift. He writes in a way that makes it very simple and easy for you to understand this principle.

He continues to talk about the POWER of the present moment. You hear people talk about the power of now and the present moment a lot… but most people don’t realize that most of the time they are NOT in the present moment.

The slick little Ego…

The Ego is what takes us out of the present moment, because of it’s constant demands for MORE. Most people find themselves in states of thought all day about wanting more money, more stuff, more relationships… more, more, more!

your ego 150x150 The Shift: Taking Your Life From Ambition To MeaningThis is the ego… and it’s snapping you right out of the present moment. In The Shift: Taking Your Life From Ambition To Meaning, it’s beautifully explained why this happens and how to make a SHIFT in the direction your life is taking.

Dr. Dyer shows us how to live a life of meaning and purpose. If you’ve been looking to regain your power and re-align yourself with your Source… then this book is the read for you. One thing you can expect from this book is VALUE… just like all of Wayne Dyer’s other books and products.

So in closing… I give this book at Thumbs Up!

So I have a question for you… Do you find yourself slipping out of the present moment often? If so, what are some useful things you do to come back to the “now”? Share below by leaving a comment here in the community.

If you’ve already read The Shift, please share your thoughts about it below… and if you haven’t ready it yet, come back after you have and share your perspective.

This is a book that anyone can benefit from. Do your Facebook and Twitter friends a favor, share this post with them … they will THANK YOU for it! You can do that by clicking the icons right here on this page.

Thank you very much for hanging out with me today on this post:)

I support you in your SHIFT…

I haven’t read the book, but I’ll add that one to my “To Read List”

I can relate with slipping away from the ‘present’.. it happens often, I learned a quick “trick” from Eben Pagan, which to try and not-only catch yourself drifting away into deep unfocused thought, but to also try and figure out what causes you to do it..

Finding this out can help you get more focus, because you’ll notice your focus slipping as it happens..

thanks for this Eric.

Eric,
Great review! So excited for you to be a partner with Hay House! I just purchased this book. Even though my husband and I have watched the movie it is never too much to read it again and again.
I am finding much better focus, peace of mind and greater results by staying in the now. When I get anxious, feel fear or move down the emotional guidance scale I realize I am not in the now then by returning to the now I can instantly return to peace and passion. It is a powerful practice I am working at becoming very proficient at.
I can’t wait to see your next review! Thanks Eric!!

Wonderful Review Eric!
I’m very much looking forward to reading it. I love how you break down what Wayne Dyer has to say. Most of us ‘think’ we are living in the present but that ego can be very deceiving. When I catch myself ‘wanting more’ or just getting caught up in my thoughts, I stop for few minutes and just breathe. I try to clear my mind and change my focus to what I am doing at that moment.

Thanks for the great post. I will be back after I have read the book. :)

Hey Danielle,

Thank you for sharing how you
bring yourself back to the present
moment.

The ego is a slippery little sucker!
It knows us very well and knows how
to take us out.

Thanks for adding value to the

Well said, I am always looking for a great new book and this sounds like it! It is true, when we are thinking of something we don\’t want we have spend our time dwelling on the issue and then we more of what we don\’t want. Thanks, Eric

Thanks. That looks like a really good book. I will add it to my reading list. I have read a lot of books on Law of Attraction. We really do get what we focus on.

Hey Melodie,

Focus is everything… what we
focus on becomes our point of
attraction!

Eric,

I enjoyed this post for a couple of reasons.

First, the actual importance of “living in the moment” was driven home to me several years ago by Kim, my best friend, soul mate and plain old Honey. We recognized early on that our relationship was so incredibly good that we needed to figure out how to protect and nourish it. What we concluded was that living in the moment and dealing with things immediately as they arose would keep us on track as a couple…and it has worked beautifully.

Secondly, although I’m an active Internet marketer, I’ve also been an international airline captain for many years. I realized that “being in the moment” was what has allowed me to focus professionally on my day to day flying and it has kept me and my passengers safe through thousands of flights. I wouldn’t have known to call it that, but thinking about it “living in the moment” is exactly what I do in performing in that position.

Whether it’s your business, your personal life or some other area that is really important to you, live in the moment, be real, address issues in real time and you can’t help but benefit. I STRONGLY recommend that your readers take a closer look at this concept and how they might apply it in their own lives.

I haven’t yet read Wayne Dyer’s book, but I will. Regarding Law of Attraction I also highly recommend the classic book, “The Power of the Subconscious Mind” by Joseph Murphy, which I happen to be re-reading this week.

Thanks for a thought provoking post.

Hey Vincent,

Yes, it’s all about living in the NOW.
The present moment is where all our
power is… and it’s really the only thing
that exists.

It doesn’t matter what we are doing,
as long as we are doing it and being
fully present.

Thanks Vincent!
