Thank Someone Who Has Touched Your Life…

by Eric Goldstein on June 28, 2010

thank you

I just watched a GREAT quick little video on the Simple Truths website called ‘Appreciation’.  I’ll give you the link in a minute… it’s a MUST watch!

So often you can go through your life without thanking the people that have touched your life and made a difference.

Stop and think for a minute… Who has touched your life in some way that you may not have acknowledged?

It can make all the difference in the world to the that person knowing that they made your life better by being a part of it.

I’m not going to keep you long on this post, because I want to challenge you to thank someone who has touched your life… and I want you to do that TODAY!  It can be anyone…. stop what you’re doing, close your eyes and think of someone who has truly made an impression on your life.

Anyone come to mind??

It can be someone who was in your life for a day, a week, a year… or maybe they are still in your life.  You’ll know when you have that special someone in your mind.  You will feel a rush of JOY come over you.

Now that you have that person… take action!  Give them a call, send them an email, write them a letter… write their name in the sky.  Pick one and do it now.  This will make their day!!!

I’d love for you to share with us who the person was that touched your life.  Leave a comment below and share away!  Also, if you’re up for it… after you acknowledge them, share with us the outcome.  So juicy… gotta love it!

I’m excited to see the comments to this post.  Just like the teacher you will see in the “Appreciation” video, she went all her life wondering if she made a difference in her life.

Check out the quick video and then get off to thanking that someone special!

===> “Appreciation Movie”

One more thing… SHARE this with your Facebook and Twitter buds.  Just imagine if tons of peeps are out there thanking people who have made a difference in their lives… simultaneously.  WOW!  What a great wave of energy to put into the world.  Share it, they will thank you :)

Yours In Appreciation,

Eric Goldstein

Thanks for the inspirational blog, Eric. There was a time some years ago when I needed an inexpensive place to live during a big transition. It was a low point for me and the thought of being homeless made it even lower. A friend invited me to share her home for a very reasonable monthly rent. When I saw the space she was offering, I nearly wept. It was the bedroom suite every woman longs for with designer furniture, fluffy comforters on the bed, my own bathroom, and access to a delightful yard and resort privileges at one of Phoenix’s finest hotels. This was my home for six months. It saved my heart from deep distress and helped me get firm footing again. Thank you Gail.

Eric your posting and meaningful video provided me with the opportunity to not only reflect on those who have touched my life, but your message also invited me to act on that awareness…and I thank you for that!

Earlier this year I lost my youngest son (age 36 years) after a lengthy illness. I would say that the way that he handled himself during his last sixteen months touched me and so many others. In my heart I thank him everyday, but your posting has moved me to send a thank you note to the Manager of the group home where my son lived.

Mark was developmentally handicapped and until the last few weeks of his life he was supported and cared for with such dignity by the staff overseen by the Manager of the facility.

Warm regards,
Bonnie

Hey Eric,

Great post man! It’s amazing how many times
we tend to forget the people in our lives that
truly make a huge difference to our success
and our growth.

One of my BIG goals that I have set for myself
is that I want to retire my parents from working
because they have done SO MUCH for me
and have supported me 100% with what I am
doing which makes a huge difference.

Thanks for sharing this great content and I
look forward to your posts in the future!

Eric,
Thank you for that meaningful post. It brought goose bumps to my arms when I listened to the student’s story. The people I appreciate the most are my family and friends and up until recently when a recurring illness brought me back home, I had been living away from my aging parents. I feel so grateful to be back here with them and sharing time with them. I am in complete appreciation for all they have done for me and all they have shared with me, which includes their unending wisdom.
Lately I live in appreciation all day :)

I appreciate my 8 year old niece because she called and told me it was really important that I go with her to get her eras pierced and it made me feel important, valued and loved. I am going to tell her that when I go pick her up in a few minutes!

Hey Eric
Great heartfelt post and so true. I make a point of showing appreciation and think I am pretty good at it, but it hit me reading this that the person I do not show it enough to is my husband of 29 years (next weekend – your Independence Day).
He is awesome and I am about to tell him.

Very good post. I tend to forget about this one to be honest. But this is an excellent reminder. It is true when we begin to practice gratitude for people, things, and experience that we just continue to manifest more good to flow in our lives.

Reply

Eric Goldstein July 2, 2010 at 8:50 AM

Hey Baker,

Right on… when we are appreciating
all we are doing is focusing on appreciation.

Appreciation is a good feeling thought,
which then becomes our point of attraction…

Which then brings things that match the
vibration of that point of attraction into our
lives.

Thanks for sharing:)

Hi Eric,
thank you for reminding us to thank other people for the little and big things they do for us.
The person I’m very thankful for is no longer with me. It’s my father who has passed away six years ago. A man born in 1921 and with very conservative and Catholic believes very often found it very difficult to accept my views. However, whenever I had a hard time or a critical situation in my life, he has always been the very first person I went to for advice or simply for comfort. He always said: ” I don’t agree with you and your choice and it’s very difficult for me to accept that. However, I will always be here for you”. This is a great lesson I will never forget: always accept others, especially your loved ones, as they are and always be there for them!
I’m happy because I’ve always thanked him for theaching me this great lesson.

Paola,

Thank you for being so transparent:)

You’re dad a great outlook when it came
to ‘allowing’ others to be who they are.

This is the one thing that I think holds
most people back in their lives. They want
everyone to be just like them…

What a boring world that would be :)

Hey Eric! Thank you for reminding all of us to take time out to show gratitude and appreciating. We should give thanks 3 times as much as we ask for help.

I know it may sound cheesy but I know the person in my life who I am most grateful for is my beloved, James.

We’ve been together for a while now and he has always ONLY supported and believed in me. He helps me out so much by asking me each day how my progress in business is going and just by the simple fact that he cares so much about how my day has gone (even when he has had a hard day). We spend alot of time thousands of miles away from each other (he is in the military) yet he is “present ” in my life. I am truly blessed to have a man in my life who makes me feel loved, cared for, supported and successful EVEN when he is far away from me. I only hope that I can make him feel the same way after all that he’s been through.

Thanks for sharing Eric!

So great to hear that you’ve had
the support from James. I’ve come

where ever we are in the world.
