Hi Eric,
Thanks for sharing with us! My special thing I love to look at is a birthday card my nephew made me when he was 7. He drew a picture and then at the bottom some brown things. On the back of the paper he wrote \’the brown things at the bottom is roots.\" This makes me laugh everytime and reminds me of my love for him and his childlike innocence.

Hi Eric,
I have my Grandmothers picture in the main entrance to my home. This way I get to see her everyday as I miss her so much. My Grandmother taught me things that will stay with me forever. She is with me all the time just like your Dad. She is my insperation because I know the stuggles she over came in her life which makes mine seam so small in comparison.
Have a wonderful Day!

Eric,

Really cool that you have your Dad`s dog tags. I don`t have anything from my folks left. ( Long story) . I have so many memories of my folks though that I really don`t need the reminders, although I wish I had some of them.

Thanks for sharing a piece of your heart!

Live a juicy Life,

Susan

Hey Susan,

All good… it’s the memories that
are the important things. The ‘stuff’
just makes us remember the memories.

Thanks for sharing today!

hi Eric, thank you for sharing this. i can just see how powerful those tags are for you.
my grandma gave me a small red marble Buddha statue when i was in my mid twenties. her father had brought 2 buddha statues back from his escape from siberia through China after the 2nd world war. besides the incredible history this piece has, the red Buddha stands for compassion and love- so true to my heart.

Eric,

Thank You for the GREAT SHARE Eric. I love the dog tag awwww. what a unique way to stay connected to your father. I don’t have anything in particular You had me thinking for sure.

But one thing that I can share with you is that when I was growing up in Philippines we only had a few photographs laying around. Philippines was not technologically advanced yet. Because of so much moving and everything. I ended up with the photos in my possession. I carried all of my parents old old photos around..needless to say everytime my siblings or parents would reminisce on our lives back in Philippines, they would always call me to see if I have the photos still. It dates back late 70s-to early 90s. We didn’t have much “stuff” growing up so photos were very very precious to us.

Anyway, this was different. Thanks for sharing a little bit about yourself.

I love the song @ the end Jack Johnson is definitely the man when it comes to’jamming’.
I appreciate ya ;)
Have an enchanting day

Great song choice!!!

I actually have a couch pillow from my late grandmother’s couch. It’s black and matches absolutely nothing in my bedroom, but I keep it on my bed to remind me of her.

Eric, lovely share very touching and heartfelt thank you. I travel alot and have made a home in so many different places and countries that I often do \\\’miss\\\’ what I \\\’let go\\\’ of each and every move and process. I have learnt from this that I always have what is inside my heart, and my memories of the people I will always be connected to. Its the kind thoughts that stay with me, coz even my most personal journals get left behind at some point….I have a small red crystal with the words faith engraved on it…this stays with me usually at my desk, and has done now for a few years. It reminds me that I am never alone :) Jenni

Eric,
What a cool thought. As a matter of fact, I have a little leather boot for my key chain that my oldest daughter made over 20 years ago at Girl Scout Camp.

Reminds me of all the great times I had with each of my kids during their time with either Girl Scouts or Boy Scouts. Memories we\\\’ll always share. :)

Thanks for taking me back…

This was a nice initative and remindes me that I´m a collector and have to much things everywhere. :)
What I want to share with you is 2 things I have in front of me almost all the time when I´m at home. On my desk I have an old beautiful watch that belonged to my mother.
On the shelf over the stove in the kitchen I have an ashtray where my fathers pipe is. The tobacco in it is the latest he put there but he died before he lit it.
Actually I have to throw away many things but never those.

Thank you so much for continuing to be vulnerable and authentic!

As far as things that I keep close to me, everyone knows what they are! Well, anyone that actually “knows” me. When it comes to places like Facebook and Twitter, it takes a while to get to know the people behind the electronics.

There is nothing I keep to myself, since I have always believed that sharing our experiences with others is what helps us get the most out of life!

I agree with Susan about the memories – I have many, and share them with anyone I think could benefit from them. From the difficult stories of cancer, alzheimers, and Parkinsons, to fun and exciting memories of my wedding (it really was cool!), the birth of both my daughters, and everything in between. If you hang around me long enough, you’ll know pretty much everything about me!

This internet thing, though, has been by far the best tool for sharing parts of yourself with others – others you may never meet in person, but could still have the best relationships with!

I always look forward to your posts!

Blessings and Belly Laughs!

Krisna

Krisna,

Thank you for your good words. I believe
the more authentic and vulnerable we are,
the more power we create within ourselves.

Hello Eric,
That was so very touching. I would like to share that I have a letter that my mother wrote to me twenty five years ago. She is gone now but every so often, I will take it out of my desk draw and read it. It makes me feel that she is close to me.

Have a Great Day

Hey Eric,
Loved the idea of your post :)

There are so many things I have that remind me of people that are not in my life any more. I like to stay connected, even if it’s on a spiritual level.

But the things that are most special, are my memories…no one can ever take them away, they are our own.

Keep on sharing :0

That was really cool Eric, shring something like that with all of us. It really makes me think about what is really important from the past. Things that take us back and remind us of some of the really cool things in life.
For me, I have never really kept much from the past. I really find that the things that are the most valuable that would have a hard time letting go of would be my books and CD’s that i have gotten over the years. Those are the things that I really like to keep and charish because it reminds me of where I came from and who I have become on this journey.
Thanks

Great video Eric. I have a tie clip that I have from my Grandpop. He was a great man and was one of those guys that knew how to be a Grandpop. I miss him.

I also have my high school wrestling shoes and will probably never get rid of them. 1. because they still fit me. and 2. because I had a lot of great memories growing up wrestling. I do Jiu-Jitsu now and that is done in bare feet so I don’t need the shoes but you never know when I might swing over the my old high school and work out with the team!

Thanks for sharing!

My dad passed away 1st of april last year and it will be a year since he has left coming up real soon, that will be a sad day.

I keep a framed picture of my old man in my office near by just for inspiration and a connection with him.

Anyway there’s my 2 cents…

Things are never as important as people, but what you describe is the way that some things do seem to carry the person with them. My dad’s folding wooden measure, my daughter’s clay trivet made in kindergarten, my grammy’s tea cup.

What’s really sweet and thoughtful are your personal comments to everyone who shared. You brought out something special in each.

Hey…there ERic,
WEll as for myself, I’d have to say that it would be my mother’s coin collection and my book of poems and I have this thing with wells. My grandfather and I would gather water from the well when I was so young. So when Im frustrated I seek meditation near wells or running water. So soothing..and I miss him and my grandmother so much.. There are so many more but these would be the strongest …It was difficult to say this..as I usually don’t mention these to anyone but sure does feel therapeutic..:)
hugs eric..

Hey Sarah,

I want to acknowledge your for being a
RockStar and sharing so authentically… it
feels so good to, right?

Thank you for that. This is why I do what
I do… so you’re comment added VALUE to
my life Sarah:)

One little tip… try not to focus on the ‘missing’
feeling, as that will hold you back from experiencing
them so much more in your life in ways that will BLOW
your mind.

Just because they left the physical world, doesn’t mean
that they aren’t still hangin’ with you. When I did this
with the losing of my dad, it made all the difference.

Now he shows up in Miraculous ways for me!

Thanks again for being so transparent… much love:)
