DON’T Listen To Your Mind…

Posted on 13. Jan, 2010 by Eric Goldstein in Personal Development

Hey there! Welcome Back, thank you for checking back in... if you haven't yet, make sure you head over and get my FREE 7 Day 'Insider Secrets To Building Your Business Online' Course. Thanks for visiting!

So I wanted to share with you something that happened to me this morning. The whole lesson behind this story is ‘You Are NOT Your Mind!’ It all started at 5:45AM this morning, when my alarm started ringing… can you picture it?

Before I get into the storty, one thing that you have to realize is that all human beings have that little voice in their heads that tries to take them out of the game any chance it gets. If you are saying ‘what little voice’… that’s the little voice I’m talking about… it’s very slick!

Our mind has one job, and one job only… I go into this in today’s video. Once you realize this, and learn to quiet it… you’re whole life will change. You will find yourself doing the things that you want to do. Once you learn to do this, you’ve brought yourself back to listening to heart… or your ‘connection’.

Watch the video as I tell me story…

Can you relate to my story? I’m sure you can… I’d love to hear your feedback. What sort of things does that little voice in your head say to you to try and STOP you from doing the things you really want to do? Share them with the community here by leaving a comment below, you never know who’s life you are going to effect:)

Also, share this post with your friends on Facebook & Twitter. I think this is something that EVERYONE needs to hear. Just click on the green or blue buttons above or below this video to instantly share it with them.

I want to THANK YOU for stoppin’ at my blog today. I appreciate you!

Yours In Success,
Eric Goldstein

P.S. You are NOT your mind! Once you realize this and quiet it, you will get back to who you really are:)

    Hey Eric,
Fab Advice! I’ve been meditating for years, chakra balancing, meditation etc. In fact, I named by brick and mortar business
Mind over Matter. I know that if you train your mind through meditation and affirmations, your mind CAN control your goals.
It has happened to me many times and I teach it to my clients.
The mind is controlled by those “comfort zones” which is your routine. But you can change your life entirely by using your mind correctly. Research Quantum Physics and there is the proof of the pudding. This can be a book, so I’ll stop here. But it becomes “normal” when you meditate for a long time. Thanks Eric for bringing up this conversation.
    Keep it up, Donna

      Donna,

Great share… I find the more I meditate
the clearer my mind becomes… and the more
I can manifest what I want.

Always great to see you here in the community:)

Hey Eric! Great post today! I can completely relate to that voice that tells you to stay in bed. I love that you just thank that voice for sharing. Great advice!

It is definitely really important to recognize when that voice in your head is attempting to sabotage your goals! I hear that voice the most when I want to start a conversation with someone that I don’t know very well. My head tries to give me all kinds of reasons why I shouldn’t approach that person.

Giving in to fear feels awful! I hate that defeated feeling. On the other side though, I love the feeling when I just ignore the fear and do it anyway. That is a great feeling.

Thanks for the great reminder that our heads can get in the way if we let them!

      Melissa,

Thanks for the great share! Once we
realize and accept that we all have that
little voice… then we can quiet the bugger
      down.

      Keep listening to your heart:)

Hello Eric, Some good teaching there, and I want to share a bit too. We have a will and our wills are very strong, regardless of right or wrong, So that brings in a choice, and a lot of times we make the wrong choice when we listen to our mind. Other voices, thoughts can be picked up from what we have listened to. So therefore we need to discern is this good or not. Jesus said, \" Take no thought saying\"….so we can take a thought but of we keep on thinkjing it we eventually will speak it and then we are forming our world by our words.
Also the body will do what we tell it to, then we have to put it into action. Now I have found in my nearly 80 years that my heart has not always been correct and got me into some trouble. I know a lot of talk came out several years ago, if it feels right do it…..that does not make it right neccessarily.
Hope this helps some people too.

Great video Eric. That is usually what happens to me a lot. Sometimes I give in. I have been exercising more and it now seems that I am having more energy and am able to push my mind out of the way more.

Thanks for the video, Eric! I had that same voice today as well. I woke up a little earlier than expected today and instead of just getting up my mind told me to stay in bed a little longer. I ended up running a little late to my duties for the day because of it. I’ll make sure to give my heart a FIGHTING CHANCE!

      Jumaane,

Thank you so much for sharing
      and being transparent. It’s such
a beautiful thing when we come
      from that place.

The mind is slick, and it does get
us all here and there. Keep doing
      what you’re doing buddy!

    Hey Eric!

Simply incredible. It’s the little things in life that make the most difference to us on a daily basis and listening to your heart is where it’s at. The mind WILL try and control what you do and make you think you want something you don’t or that’s bad for you.

Take control of your own life and take action. Your mind will only stop you if you let it.

Awesome advice here. I see a lot of stuff online everywhere and today I’m going to share this one with a bunch of people who I believe could truly use this message to their best desires.

You ROCK Eric! (And not only because
      you have a cool name:)

When we take control of our life, by
quieting the mind… we attract all the
things into our life that we presume
      to be good.

      Keep creating that magic buddy!

Like you said in your video, the mind is really designed to keep you safe and keep you in your comfort zone. You can choose what you focus your mind on, so a good strategy is to focus on your ultimate goal. I find that tends to get me moving in the right direction.

Jason… Focusing on the outcome and why
we want it, is always a good way to push
      through the mind chatter.

      Thanks for the great share:)

    Hi Eric,
Thanks for another great video. You’re absolutely right that we all have had these kind of thoughts before. Sometimes I can physically feel when my heart is speaking. It’s when I’m debating with myself on what to do next, and when I think of a right thing to do, I feel like energy is flowing through my chest.

      Miko,

I love how you said that you can ‘feel’ when
your heart is speaking. We live in a ‘feeling’
      based Universe…

Our emotions are there to guide us towards
where we want to go… Keep rockin’ it Miko!

    Hey Eric,
how\’d you get so smart? :) You hit the nail on the head…however sometimes I am confused at who\’s talking…my head or my heart. For instance I was to work today…but I wanted to stay home and work on my passion…learning to blog and move myself in a direction that is far different than what I do now. So I am home feeling guilty for not working, because I do need the money.
So what do you think…did I listen to my mind or my heart today? I just don\’t know.

      Hey Lisa,

Thank you for your comment! You heart
is where the passion is, and I’m all about
      following that.

Sometimes we still have to work in order to
keep things moving, while we work on our
      passion.

Once piece of advice… it’s my belief that there
is no right or wrong. So if you stay home, feel
      good about staying home.

If you go to work, feel good about it. Align your
energy with whatever you do, that is the most
      IMPORTANT thing:)

I hope that sheds some light…
