Coach John Wooden: True Success

by Eric Goldstein on September 21, 2009

What Is Your Definition Of Success?

The only definition of success that matters, is your own! Everyone is running around trying to be ‘successful’ according to other peoples terms. This is a game you cannot win!

Watch this video of Coach John Wooden as he redefines success and urges us all to pursue the best in ourselves. This is the advice he would give his players at UCLA, where he led his team to 10 NCAA National Championships in 12 years, an unmatched record by any other college basketball coach.

So what is your definition of success?

It’s very POWERFUL to write it down so you’re clear what it is. Clarity is POWER! So I invite you to leave your definition of success as a comment at the bottom of this page.

Also, share this with others as I feel people need to stop living by other peoples standards, and live by their own. Click the green ‘retweet’ button on this page to send this blog post out to all of your Twitter followers, they will THANK YOU for it:)

Play life by your rules… when you do this you’ve set up a game that you can win!

Speak soon…

Yours In Success,
Eric Goldstein

How did you get captcha installed? It looks like it takes
some real coding awareness based on the directions I looked at. Is there an easier way?

Thanks for sharing this insightful video, Eric

Most people have this materialistic view of how success is attained and measured, but few see it through simple things in life. I guess each of us has their own parameters which will define success. The simpler it is, the more we can call ourselves successful beyond others perception.

Alex,

So true my friend. I’m all about
setting the bar high to strive for
excellence, but too many people
every look at all they’ve done and
allow themselves to feel successful.

Keep rockin’…

Hi Eric,

Thank you for sharing this video. I had the privilege of growing up near L.A. while Wooden\’s Bruin\’s were so dominating. And I watched many of their games. It was an awesome and enlightening experience.

This reminds me of a my last just over broke (job) I had, if you didn\\\’t treat people like numbers, you were no good to the company.

I treat people like people not like numbers, I guess that explains why I don\\\’t have a just over broke anymore.

They did me a favor!

Wouldn\\\’t it be awesome to tap in to the wisdom of Coach Wooden?

Thanks for sharing Eric.
