Be YOU… And Nobody Else!

by Eric Goldstein

People are always asking me… “Eric, what is the secret to building a business online?” I can see it in their eyes that they are looking for a strategy or the next hottest tip. Most of them are thrown back when I tell them “Be YOU… And Nobody Else!”

You can have all the strategies and tools in the world… but if you are not being YOU, then it’s all for nothing. You will still continue to chase people around, trying to get what you want. I’ve been there, done that… and its damn tiring!

So it’s truly about being yourself and being transparent. I talk more about this in the video below… Check It Out:

0 Be YOU... And Nobody Else!

So are you up for the challenge that I put in front of you in this video? If so, share your thoughts at the bottom of this post by leaving a comment… and if you are not, share why you’re not.

Also, send this out to your Twitter & Facebook buddies. This is an IMPORTANT message that more people need to hear. Thank you for sharing your time with me here today!

Speak soon my friend…

Yours In Empowerment,
Eric Goldstein

P.S. The more true to yourself you can be… the happier you will be! Stop being a people pleaser and be a YOU pleaser:)

Eric,

This is sooo true. I gave up the fact of trying to be a people pleaser back when I turned a senior in high school. I love your little HOMIE. It all comes back to knowing WHO you are. A lot of people don\’t know who they are. They think they do, they might do certain things to make them think they know who they are, but they don\’t. It took me A long time to figure this out. I\’m still in the process of figuring it out but I know what I want in life.

Eric, you are such an inspiration to everyone out there. I\’m so glad to have met you and everyone else.

Keep up the good work – Ryan

Great post Eric! You nailed it on this one my friend. Getting in touch with who you are and not trying to please everyone is so crucially important, not only to your success but to your happiness in life.

You are NEVER going to please everyone and odds are If you don’t have any enemies, or people who do not agree with you then you probably don’t know WHO you are and never stood for anything.

Hey Eric!

I am truly digging into this type of mentality. I was so freakin scared to do anything because I was always afraid to be judged. NOT ANYMORE! I am just going to DO ME and have fun building my own business… I mean you can’t just go out there and make this whole process a party but allow enough to mesh with great marketing and the lifestyle will follow…

Thanks for Keepin’ It Real!

Hi Eric,
Great to meet you! And this IS a great message to get out. I found it to be so, so true – when I step outside that box of conformity, and let that “real me” out…amazing things start to happen. I look especially over the last year, and how just 12 months ago I never would have imagined I would have met the amazing people I have. Door DO open!

Right on Lance!

The more that you can be YOU, the
more the things that you want show
up… it’s as simple as that.

We’ve set desires in motion from the
non-physical side of us… and when we
are being us, we are in alignment with
those desires… and they flow into our
experience.

Thanks for stoppin’ by:)

This is such an important awe inspiring message for everyone. I like Justin’s comment about embracing it and the snowball effect and also about revisiting the videos. This is already my second time watching this video.

Just being ourselves without the worries of what others think…who could guess how liberating that would be for so many. I have had more than one person tell me in business, just as life, people have to know you, like you and trust you. If you are not being yourself you blew it on all 3 counts and people will figure it out.

Thank you Eric.
I find it very true that you must be authentic in all that you do if you are to honor yourself and those around you. As a healer, this is an area that people often trip over because there is a misconception out there that the healer must be a cetain way, should not have problems, or is somehow moved beyond there humanity. I have tripped over it many times, and often still get tangled in that projection placed upon the healer (and one I have placed upon myself, as well). But to truley be a healer, you must be fully alive, fully connected, fully human, fully yourself. If you as ‘healer’ suppress who you are, you project an expectation onto the ‘client’ that they have to fit into this impossible image of ‘health’ to be whole. The reality is that if you are not yourself, you are lying to everyone and causing a tremendous amount of damage to others. Inauthenticity and disconnection from self is one of the core wounds that are in need of healing in our society. As healer, you must be present with every aspect of your emotional human self. Allow your clients to see your humanity, for that also creates safety for them to embrace all aspects of their own humanity in all its glorious messiness. Therein lies true health and wholeness of being.

Reply

Eric Goldstein July 14, 2010 at 9:38 AM

Honoring yourself is so important… and admitting
where you are. We all have challenges… no matter
WHO we are.

And the more transparent you can be with your
clients… the more they know you are real, the more
they relate… the more biz they will do with you.

Wow, LOL, you hit the nail on the head yet again.
I used to be in a different profession and when I switched over to a new field all together I found that I was a happier and better person. I have such a passion for what I am doing now that I have reached a point of not worrying about pleasing other people.
There is a new trend that many great chefs have jumped on the band wagon with that I don’t feel is right, and I made it very clear where I stand regarding this new trend and as a result I have had a lot of positive feed back but also my fair share of people giving me all kinds of grief about it as well. But because I believe so firmly in my position with it I have found more people giving me positive feedback and that my brutal honesty is paying off. However, the one lesson I have learned recently is that there is a very fine line between being brutally honest and rude. Grant it, it was not at all intended to be but the person I was dealing with felt it was. As a result it cost me financially. So please learn from my mistake and use caution when being honest.
