5 Affirmations To Change Your Life

positivechange 5 Affirmations To Change Your Life

Positive self talk… some will say it sounds a little crazy.  What they don’t realize is they are already talking to themselves, and most of the time it’s leaning towards the negative side of things.

Most of us have been programmed to look at what’s wrong or what’s missing.  Don’t believe me… have you heard some of these sayings before?

    • Life wasn't meant to be easy
    • Don’t get your hopes up
    • It’s easier said then done
    • All Good things must come to an end

Remember these… most of our parents, teachers and other people who had influence over us growing up used to throw them around all the time.  If you hear something long enough, especially at a young age, you start to believe it… and then it becomes one of your truths/beliefs.

Most people are unaware of the POWER of our vocabulary.  All of your words carry a vibration, and that vibration becomes your point of attraction.  Basically, whatever you believe is what you will get.

Now you might be saying to yourself right now ‘I don’t believe those things’.  You might not want to believe them, but if they’ve been told to you over and over, they might be a deep rooted limiting beliefs.  A belief is just a thought that you keep thinking over and over.

When it gets to that point, you usually aren’t even aware that you’re thinking that thought.  It’s become so normal that you’ve acclimated to it.

So how do you know if you talking to yourself that way?

Now you don’t want to drive yourself crazy with this.  As a human being you have an average of 60,000 thoughts per day, so you don’t want to go monitoring them all.  A litmus test to see if you are focusing more on the negative side of things is to pay attention to what you are saying.

The thoughts that are most dominant will show up in your external talk.  Just be aware of the things you are saying.  If your talk is more towards ‘what’s missing’ or ‘what’s wrong’, then you know you have some of these disempowering beliefs.

Here are a few examples:

    • Why do I always do that?
    • It’s too good to be true… it probably won’t happen
    • I’m always in a rush, there is never enough time

Are any of these or similar statements familiar?  It’s okay if they are.  The first step in making a shift is awareness.  Being honest with where you are is the only way to get to where you want to go.

So how do you change your thought patterns?newlife 5 Affirmations To Change Your Life

Affirmations are the key to doing this.  Affirmations are just positive empowering statements that you make to reprogram you thinking.

Most people laugh at thought of doing them, but you have two choices… to keep doing what you’ve been doing and getting the results you been getting, or try something new.

If you keep doing what you’ve been doing, you will keep getting what you’ve been getting.  No matter how many times you try, if you keep trying to bake something with the wrong ingredients you’re never going to get the end result you want.

5 Affirmations to change your life

  1. I have abundance in all areas of my life
  2. I trust in the Universe to deliver me exactly what I need in each moment
  3. I have meaningful and loving relationships
  4. I am instrument of vibrant health
  5. Money flows into my life easily and frequently

These are just some examples for you.  If they resonate with you, then use them.  If not, create affirmations that you will better fit you.  One thing you have to remember, they are going to feel weird when you first start doing them.

You might not believe them in the beginning,  but the idea is to say them each day until they feel more and more real.  Once they do, you will start to see physical results showing up in your life to match the affirmations.  Pretty cool, huh?

Starting out…

Spend 5-10 minutes each day repeating your affirmations.  It’s best to do them looking in the mirror.  Now that might sound funny, but I promise you that they are much more POWERFUL when done this way.

Also, they are best done in the morning.  Why?  You are in your least resistant state in the morning because you just came off a night of rest.  Also, you want to set the point of attraction for your day on the right foot.

My challenge to you…

I’m here to EMPOWER you… so I have a challenge for you.  Spend 5-10 minutes each day for the next 30 days saying your affirmations.  This includes the weekends too:)

I promise you that if you stick with this, you will see a major difference in the people, places and experiences that show up in your life.  You will be on the path to creating abundance in your life!

Do you accept the challenge?  If you do, leave me a comment below that you are ready to ROCK the affirmation challenge.

If you do take the challenge, I’d love for you to revisit this post after your 30 days are up and share with the community your results.  Share this post with your Facebook and Twitter friends, they will thank you for adding value to their life!

You are amazing… I support you on your journey to ultimate abundance!

Yours In Abundance,

Eric Goldstein

Ok Erik, I accept the challenge! I will do this for 30 days and see what happens. I have heard different opinions on affirmations, so people say it is a good thing to do, others say it is a waste of time. I trust you, and if you say it works, well I am willing to try it! Thanks for sharing this Erik – make it a great day!

Good stuff Eric,

I started talking to myself in the mirror the first thing in the morning about 4 weeks ago and it does make a difference because you’re looking for and anticipating the positive as opposed to what’s going to go wrong throughout your day. And when you do have struggles, your outlook is more optimistic than negative. You’re able to solve problems as opposed to complain about them.

Keep up the good work!

Great Post!

I am gonna rock that challenge. Most definitely. I thoroughly agree. I have noticed significant changes in my life once I started using affirmations. REALLY using them, as in believing the words I say. It is amazing all the JUNK that rolls around in our heads and what we tell ourselves. And A LOT of it is negative.

Now, with the challenge, I am committing to not doing it haphazardly, but every single day. Cant wait to post the results.

Interesting how a subject can be brought up in so many different ways at the same time. The cool thing is, every person has their own take on the subject, which means a fuller reading experience for those who read them all.

Affirmations spoken out loud carry the weight of your passion and desires. Great way to connect with your inner core and the Universe. Thanks for these great affirmations.

I have always shy’ed away from speaking affirmations into a mirror, but have heard that is incredibly powerful. So yes! I am up for the challenge ~ I love these 5 affirmations you shared! :)

I resonate with your affirmations so no need to change them!
Always remember to attach a strong feeling to the affirmation. It’s better an emotion without affirmation that an affirmation without an emotion. I don’t use affirmations cause affirmations sometimes sound like bullshits to my subconscious mind. I use to practice the Wouldn’t it be nice if…? game which allows me to soften my vibration and to really BELIEVE what I’m saying. So let’s say:
Wouldnt’ it be nice if I could have abundance in all areas of my life ?
Wouldn’t it be nice if I could trust in the Universe to deliver me exactly what I need in each moment ?
Wouldn’t it be nice if I could experience meaningful and loving relationships ?
Wouldn’t it be nice if i could experience vibrant health in my entire body?
Wouldn’t it be nice if money could flow into my life easily and frequently ?

This sound very easy to me, very easy to believe, and so there’s no self-defeating while practicing this process, ’cause i say this thing and I really believe it, beacuse I’m just saying “wouldn’t it be nice if…?” And when there’s no self-defeating, you just feel so good…And this is sufficient! This is ALL you have to do to shift your point of attraction.

Rock on,
Francesco

Reply

Stefan May 7, 2010 at 11:36 AM

Francesco,

“Would” and “could” are words that describe a hypothetical future. If you phrase it in the form of a question it becomes even more hypothetical. This is not much of an affirmation. In my opinion, you should change “wouldn’t it” to “it would”, at least, to put it in an affirmative context. Surely there are some affirmations you could believe! How about, “I’m friendly and have a nice smile”? I can see it’s true!

Reply

Eric Goldstein May 8, 2010 at 2:32 PM

Hey Stefan… I can see your perspective
on this. Abraham Hicks teaches this method
for the purpose of lessening the resistance
around your statements… making it easier
to believe it.

I like to use both… i love affirmations. If I
find myself in a more resistant state about
something, I might use the ‘Wouldn’t it be
nice if…’

Thanks for your share buddy. I always
love your feedback!

Reply

Eric Goldstein May 8, 2010 at 2:34 PM

Hey Francesco,

I can see where you are coming from
with this. Abraham Hicks teaches this
principle that you are talking about.

I use both… I’ll use an affirmation that
I can ‘feel’ pretty close to, where there
isn’t too much resistance.

Affirming something in the present tense
is powerful, it makes the sub-conscious mind
think you are already there and it goes to work
to bring you there.

The ‘Wouldn’t it be nice if…’ game I like to play
when I’m in a more resistant state over something
and I’m looking to sooth it.

Thanks for the share my friend:)

Reply

Francesco May 7, 2010 at 1:12 PM

Hi Stefan! Thanks for your answer! :)
There is no such thing as an hypothetical future. There is only your vibration, and it is NOW. The Universe doesn’t answer to words. It answers to vibration. The “Wouldn’t it be nice if…?” is one of the many processes to raise your vibration. Of course, an affirmation that you really feel to be true is more powerful, IF YOU REALLY BELIEVE IT. So the affirmation “I’m friendly and have I a nice smile” would be much more powerful in my case, because I feel like it’s true. But I feel like it’s true only because I’ve practiced that thought and that vibration long enough that it has become a reality for me. I’ve seen myself with a bright smile for a long time, till it has become an habit, and now people are beginning to notice it. And I love it!
This was easy for me, because I can say I’m happy and lovely and BE happy and lovely NOW. It takes 1 second to put the smile on your face.
But It’s not so easy to say “I am a billionare” and feel like a billionaire NOW, because you probably won’t believe that this is possible in just one second and reality always shows what you believe. So you’ve got more chanches:
-You can choose an affirmation that you really believe and repeat it constantly like a mantra, so that you always stay in a good mood, IGNORING other subjects.
-Put it more softly by saying “Wouldnt’ it be nice if…?” and applying it to all subjects that you want . The Universe (or God, or the Field, call it with the name that you prefer) answers to a FEELING. So if you feel good while saying this, you raise your vibration and your job is done. With time, manifestation will begin to show you evidence of your shifted point of attraction and you won’t be saying “wouldn’t it be nice if…” You will be saying I AM, or I KNOW I WILL BE, I’M SURE OF THIS.

Thank you,
Francesco

Reply

Stefan May 7, 2010 at 4:21 PM

Francesco,

I kinda kinda see where you are coming from now and I think you’re probably right; just going for the feeling is probably the best solution for you to believe what you are saying. Have a great day!!

Stefan

Reply

Eric Goldstein May 8, 2010 at 2:38 PM

Francesco…

I think there is power in both. One thing
I’ve come to realize is there isn’t 1 way to
do things.

I say affirmations to myself that I have not
yet become… but they feel really good when
I say them. The more I do them, the more I
manifest them and fit into those roles… I know
this from experience.

I also like the ‘Wouldn’t it be nice game..’ at
times as well.. i think there is a time and a
place for each… and it’s both… not either or.

Again… just my thoughts :)

I like your suggestions, I also add an emotionally charged to the beginning of all my affirmations. “I am so happy to…”, etc.

More people need to do this as it is free and will help reprogram those neural networks and the subconscious.

Hi Eric, I have been saying my affirmations for a week now and have one doozey of a cold, so don’t really feel like a “Vibrant Instrument of Health”, BUT I had to share this with you:
I mentioned how I am trying affirmations for the first time to a Mum at school who recently fought breast cancer without traditional western medicine and she told me that to be an “Instrument of Vibrant Health” I first have to clear out the “muck” (well she used another word, but I would like to be a lady in this public forum!!). I really love this concept – and so I am continuing my affirmations!
I must admit the first 4 I find easy – I really do believe them, the 5th one I am working on to change a lifetime of negative energy about money – I will keep you all posted!!

Yes, sometimes there is a lot of built up
‘muck’, or resistance. It’s because of the

Excellent topic Eric! Affirmations are what pulled me out of being a young man in a dark funk of negativity to the empowered, positive man I am today. People often ask me the one thing they should try and I usually give them 2. Affirmations and meditation which can be used simultaneously and I often do. Personally, I love T. Harv Eker’s affirmations for becoming a money magnet and I use them along with many others including Jeffrey Combs “Succes-firmations”. One can never have too many affirmations to pull from :-)

Hey Eric,

I just wanted to let you know that it seems to me like the affirmations had a positive effect on my life! Much of the time I was thinking to myself that there was no effect I perceive, that this is just silly, but luckily I am too deterministic to believe there was no effect. ;)

I said my affirmations from memory most days and only used the mirror a couple of times since I would remember while I was cooking or doing dishes. Then I said them to myself for only a minute or two because it seemed a little tedious to me after a while.

By now it has become habitual for me and I want to try to modify each affirmation as time goes on for more positive impact. I think the affirmations should probably be adjusted, maybe weekly, as our needs and lives change. They would surely be a good thing to reflect on during meditation (which I still have to try). Thanks for the inspiration and good vibes, Eric!

The happy infidel,
Stefan

Hey Eric,

I’ve had the reminder to report back popping up for almost a week and keep putting it off, thanks Stefan for the push.

Thanks to Stephanie for her comment about “instrument of vibrant health” I have had both a bad cold and stomach virus in the last month and usually never get sick. Without this comment I probably would have given up the affirmations entirely.

I think the results I have had from doing my affirmations has been more than proportionate to the effort I put in. Like Stefan I did them from memory when I got the chance. Interestingly I found that often I there would be one I could not remember. Whenever I checked the page I had them written on I found it was whatever I was most struggling with at the time.

I will continue with my affirmations, however this time I think my first one needs to be “I am committed to regularly practicing my affirmations and receive great benefit from them” or something of the sort.

Thanks Eric

Rowena, Stefan: yes!! I have found the ones I can’t remember are the ones I am stuck with, amazing isn’t it? So I know these are the ones to work on!
A friend said to me: “Imagine if I owned my own potency and did my affirmations every day” – that is now how I am challenging myself! BTW Eric – in these past 3 weeks I have entered a blogging challenge, fixed up my website and started my shop with my Intellectual Property relating to my sales knowledge – all things I have been procrastinating and not finding time to do. I am so stoked!! Oh by the way – I have added my own affirmation “I am SOOOO lucky”, because I am!!

Hey Stephanie,

Great stuff… you are movin’ and
groovin’ girl!

Always great to see people consistent,
as that is the key to getting what you
want in anything you do.

Thanks for the great share!

Great site Eric,
60,000 thoughts per day… It’s amazing how great the brain is and also scary how we allow most of those thoughts to run on automatic. I love affirmations and I’m looking forward to you cash flow your passion video.
